Wiki Federation

Some experiments have been done to extend the concept into what is commonly called Wiki Federation [DM: replaced by the Wiki:InterWikiMap; http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?InterWikiMap, that is a peer network of wiki servers that exchange data so that user requests on one in some way leverage the content of the others. Multisite-spanning search is one example. A very simple enhancement is SisterSite functionality, where page links are validated against lists of page names from sister sites, not just the wiki's own database.
