Is the human thought process separable from language (Question received at
ResearchGate on 26 June
2020)?
"Well said. Concepts are very relative. It makes more sense that thought and culture are broader than language in case language is defined as a means of written and spoken communication. Otherwise, thought and language (as a broadly defined category) are really interdependent and parallel.
We should not forget the fact that language (as a means of oral communication) on Earth evolved on the basis of music. Pronunciation which is a necessary component of language proficiency (although most people underestimate its importance) is not only acquired through practice, it is also related to genes, brain activity (how we process and produce language) - therefore based on speed of thinking - and it starts before one's birth (exactly the way music intelligence is formed). In other words, there are objective biological factors which contribute to both language and thought." (
