On October 1, 2024, I asked contacts and participants to indicate groups that prioritize models as business analysis and evaluation tools. Business schools, financial and market institutions, entities dedicated to strategy, project management, business analysis, and others are examples.

In the groups of the Models in business initiative, the Project Management group is the most active and the one that receives almost all registration requests. The PMI Project Management Institute is the best-known entity, but there are other alternatives in project management, such as scenarios that use the Google Workspace platform, sales and marketing project management, agile transformation, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification, etc.

In the area of business analysis, the IIBA International Institute of Business Analysis is identified. Other groups are dedicated to Business Intelligence, Balanced Scorecard, OKR Objectives and Key Results, business performance, business process, etc.

During the recess between December 2024 and February 2025, I will schedule a new "production core" for 2025 on groups in models. There is a lot to summarize on this subject.

The goal is to seek maturity on model risk in all groups of the Models in business initiative in any publication. Comment here if you have mapped the risks of critical models in your environment.

About the Models in business initiative and groups.

In August 2024, I worked on the issue of regulating asymmetric information. Reducing information asymmetries decreases transaction costs and uncertainties, and promotes an environment of greater confidence for investments, with new entrants and greater competition.

Equally important is the issue of misinformation. Information asymmetries and misinformation can receive priority attention in our activities.

As a concrete result of work in August 2024, I believe that we can move forward in composing a "catalog" of commercial offers proposed by the groups participants. Classifying commercial offers according to consensus standards can be an intermediate step towards certification and even recommendation of commercial offers. The project management area probably benefits from this "classification". PMI or OPM3, for example, are "objects" disseminated due to the existence of "classification".
