Critical thinking depends on language development, I'm supposing. Mathematical thinking and language can develop mutually, continuing my supposition. "Failure to think mathematically about what they’re doing as the problem of modern software development in a nutshell: The stakes keep rising, but programmers aren’t stepping up—they haven’t developed the chops required to handle increasingly complex problems" (Somers, 2017). We should reflect much more on the relationship between language abilities and thinking skills, including the possibility of thinking distortions. Globalisation, all of them, political, economical, cultural, ethical etc., should also be taken into consideration. Other points to be considered are metacognitive processes, language regulation, design thinking, and, not least important, something we probably referred previously, code-switching and the consciousness and rationality levels of intentions (Reflections; Ivanoff, Gregorio Bittar;
ResearchGate, 26 April 2019).
